Alongside “El Rio de las Animan Perdidas” or the River of Lost Souls (now the Animas River), and known by the locals as “Purgatory”, Durango Mountain Resort is a year-round destination whose winters feature consistent snowfall followed by bluebird days. Durango Mountain Resort offers a vertical drop of 2,029 feet (618 meters), 1,360 acres of skier and rider accessible terrain with an annual snowfall of 260 inches (660 centimeters). The terrain is 20% beginner, 45% intermediate, and 35% advanced to expert, and also features five terrain parks to entertain skiers and riders of all ages and abilities.
