Vosges Ski Resorts FAQ

Nestled in the middle of a protected reserve, between lakes and pine forests, lie the resorts of the Vosges region. Visitors are seduced by the diversity of the activities on offer and the whole of the area is well geared for families: downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing or walking. Everyone can enjoy the region at their own pace and rhythm. It’s in the south of the region where most of the resorts of the Vosges are located, amongst the highest peaks. The main two resorts are Gerardmer and La Bresse. The largest ski resort in eastern France is La Bresse. The resort brings together all sorts of people fascinated by the snow: skiers, alpinists, hikers and sports enthusiasts. Situated at the heart of the nature reserve, Ballon des Vosges (rising from 600 to 1363 metres in altitude), invites you to taste the real pleasures of skiing.Located between beautiful and naturally preserved fresh water lakes and majestic pine forests is Gerardmer, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Vosges.” The tourist hotspot of the Vosges is festive and dynamic, and offers two ski areas: the Mauselaine-Chaume Francis-Grouvelin for downhill skiing with 20 ski runs and the Les Bas-Rupts with 40 km of cross country ski trails. The Vosges’ capacity to welcome families and cross country skiers is simply exceptional, without of course forgetting downhill skiers. As the region is not a purpose- built ski facility, visitors can expect an authentic welcome combining tradition and gastronomy.
