Base Lodge Regulation

  • Lutsen Mountains is implementing capacity restrictions to limit the number of guests each day. Several dates are likely to sell out making online reservations necessary. 
  • Guests are required to purchase tickets online for all dates, including same-day ticketing, which minimizes wait times and line queues as well as providing contact-free payment. 
  • First Name, Last Name, and Date of Birth is required for each guest on a ticket order. A Release of Liability Waiver must be completed for each guest prior to entering line queue. Guests are required to complete a waiver only 1x per season, prior to their first visit. Waivers can be completed at any time prior to redemption at
  • To reduce congestions, ticket redemption locations are available at the Gondola Base ticket office, at check-in for Eagle Ridge and Caribou Highlands guests, and in new ticket booths in the auxiliary parking lot on peak days. Face coverings required and please follow physical distancing markers when in line queues.

Lift Regulations

  • Face coverings are required while riding a lift or while waiting in line to ride a lift.  Please also wear a face-covering in any outdoor setting where it’s challenging to maintain 6 ft. social distance.
  • Guests will be asked to self-group and load the lift with their traveling party.
  • Please keep 6 ft. distance from other parties when in lift line.
  • Singles lanes have been removed from all double and triple chairlifts.
  • Caribou Express offers a singles lane, a doubles lane, and a lane for groups of 3 to 6.  Singles and doubles may join together provided separate parties seat on opposite ends of the chair with at least two vacant spaces between parties.
  • Windows must remain open when riding the Summit Express gondola.
  • Singles and doubles may join together on the gondola provided related parties face each other and are seated on opposite sides of the cabin from joining party.

Ski School Regulations

  • Reservations for ski & snowboard lessons must be made online or by phone 218-406-1325. Capacity is limited - advanced reservations recommended. 
  • The Snowsports Center will be closed to the public this season. Students will meet their instructor outside. If temperatures require a warming break, classes will have access to the Snowsports Center on a staggered schedule to allow physical distancing. 
  • If you have questions or need to speak with a staff member, please call the Snowsport Center 218-406-1325 or ring buzzer at the front door and a staff member can meet you outside. 
  • All students must have face covering, goggles, and gloves.
  • Self-assessment of COVID symptoms should be part of a daily routine for all visitors to the resort. If you are sick - please stay home. Temperature checks are required of all students participating in ski school classes. Students with a temperature of 100.4 F or higher will not be allowed to participate.
  • We will not offer all-days lessons this season. To offer lessons to the greatest number of people with our current capacity restrictions, students are limited to one 1-hour private or half-day group class per day. 
  • Minimum age for lessons is age 4.

Ski Rental Regulations

  • Rental equipment must be purchased online in advance and redeemed at the Ticket Office.
  • The Rental Shop is currently limited to 50% capacity. To create more space for boot fitting, rental forms must now be completed online prior to entering the Rental Shop.
  • Extended hours, both on arrival nights and early morning, will be scheduled during peak periods. Check here closer to your arrival date for updated hours. 
  • All rental equipment will be cleaned and sanitized between each use.
