Les Gets is part of the immense Portes du Soleil ski area: 12 resorts linked by 650kms of ski runs. With Geneva on its doorstep, it is a region without borders, where you can enjoy a unique skiing experience in France and Switzerland.

Les Gets itself boasts 120kms of ski runs, winding through forests and over mountain pastures. Each side of the village offers a completely different type of terrain, suitable either for beginners or more experienced skiers:

Overlooking the Mont Blanc chain, the Mont Chéry side is perfect for the more proficient skier. A compact and intimate ski area, it is the ideal place to carve through the powder.

The Chavannes side offers a variety of ski runs suited to all levels. Perfect for families, there are areas reserved for beginners and children. This side is linked into the Portes du Soleil system. Take a ski safari and experience the unique cross-border culture that the Portes du Soleil has to offer.

New this winter:

Video park: This winter, skiers can record their own personal video free of charge. Located in the Perrières area, this 'video zone' comprises a parallel slalom run, open to the public, with integrated time-keeping. Register your ski-pass on entry and the video system starts automatically filming each skier individually during their descent. At the end of the run, skiers can immediately view their video on-screen and find all their videos on the internet to share via social networks. Access via the Perrières Express chairlift, at the bottom of the Mélèzes piste. Learn more

'Les Quatre Saisons' A gastronic brasserie

Discover this new, gastronomic gem, right in the heart of Les Gets village. Chef, Alan White is constantly evolving his innovative style incorporating local, seasonal produce.

Children are welcome at Les Gets

An accredited Village Famille Plus Montagne, Les Gets resort actively welcomes children and provides countless activities for all ages: the snow garden, the sledging area, the Grand Cry Territory, the Mauve Milka ski run, the ice skating rink.

The Grand Cry American Indian Reserve for budding skiers 

An American Indian frontier village complete with teepees, wild-west decor and face-painting for ages 5-12.

Situated in heart of the forest, it consists of ski runs decorated with giant scenery including totem poles and teepees. There's a ski run complete with loud-speaker system and a cowboys' log cabin full of games and music. Every week during the season, there are drawing competitions, face-painting and treasure hunts.

Mappys' Beginners' Area

The Espace des Mappys Beginners' ski area is totally free of charge, where you can learn to ski safely, protected from faster more confident skiers. Easily accessible from the top of the Chavannes bubble lift, this beginners' zone is in a calm, safe area just beside the main ski slopes. It has two gentle moving carpets, a tow-rope and four gentle beginners' ski runs.

Highlights of the season in Les Gets

Winter event highlights include orientation ski races, romantic gondola dinners and free live concerts on the ski slopes.

Orientation ski race - Big Mountain Battle (Jan. 16, 23 and 30, 2013)

This is an orientation race over the Les Gets ski area in which all experienced skiers and snowboarders are invited to participate. Participants must have understanding of piste safety and be of a competent standard to compete.

The aim of this multi-discipline snow event, is to pass through a series of marked checkpoints in under three hours. Teams of two racers will each be given a route map. With the help of a GPS system organisers can verify the position of each team in real time and ensure that all the checkpoints have been crossed. Learn more

Romantic gondola dinner (Feb 14, 2013 - St Valentine's day)

Something very different for Valentine's day 2013! A romantic dinner for two in the Mont Chery bubble with, as the highpoint - a stunning night view over the village.

After a welcoming glass of champagne, couples take their seats in one of the 39 elegantly decorated bubble cars. A course will be served each time you pass through a lift station. A firework display will bring the evening to close. Price : 50€ per person including champagne and wine. Learn more

Rock the Pistes Festival (March 20-24, 2013)

Rendez-vous on the ski slopes of the Portes du Soleil and join the third Rock the Pistes Festival, combining snow sports and music. Enjoy free, open-air daytime concerts in the heart of the ski area, where the best of the French and international pop-rock scene will be accessible using only your ski-pass. Move from venue to venue, between France and Switzerland on skis.
