The huge snowstorms that have been repeatedly hitting Austria and Switzerland for the last two weeks have finally eased off, unveiling some bumper powder conditions. There's been so much snow in some places, it's actually hampered skiing with lift and slope closures, but now resorts can finally catch their breath as it looks as if the snow clouds have passed (for now at least).


Austria snow report: Skiing conditions are excellent across Austria right now, both on and off piste with more than a metre in the last week: 160cm in Saalbach, 150cm in Alpbach and Skiwelt resorts, 120cm in Mayrhfoen and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, and 95cm in Lech-Zuers.

Switzerland snow report: Widespread snowfalls in the Swiss Alps have brought up to two metres of powder in the last seven days: 205cm in Andermatt, 165cm in Elm, 150cm in Laax, 130cm in Engelberg, 95cm in Davos and many more.

France snow reportThe Northern French Alps has also seen some healthy dumps in the last week: 80cm in Flaine, 67cm in La Rosiere, 60cm in Chamonix and Megeve, 50cm in Avoriaz and Morzine, 40cm in La Plagne and Val Thorens. Unfortunately the Southern French Alps didn't see much of the recent snowfall and snow canons are still being relied upon.

Italy snow reportSubstantial snowfall in Italy was limited to just a handful of places, including 60cm in Cervinia, 40cm in livigno and 30cm in Bormio. Bardonecchia had 10cm which helped freshedn conditions nicely. Much of the Milky Way ski area remains reliant on artificial snow.

Scotland snow report: There is currently no skiing available in Scotland

Andorra snow reportski resorts have seen bright sunny skies of late and no fresh snowfall. Some runs remain closed due to lack of coverage but good skiing can still be had at all ski resorts thanks to the artificial snow.

Bulgaria snow report: Ski resorts reported some snowfall early this week, before the sun returned. At present there are beautiful clear skies and good conditions both on and off-piste.
