Old lifts and weird terrain

Full review

I scored 44.00 lift tickets on Working Advantage to Pico. We arrived at 8 and were on the hill by 8:30. It's a weird layout and took us a bit to figure out the terrain. The main lift does not take you to the top. One must connect to another lift and much of the top is expert. Sadly, the entire mountain was hard icy corduroy. I was really apprehensive. A few trails (Prospector) were pure ice. I did a few runs and decided to wait an hour for the temps to warm and soften up. No joy, it was mostly icy all day. My boyfriend was all over and boarded 5 hours to get a day in but overall he was so frustrated with the conditions. We suspect the warm soft conditions of Sat. and Sun. just froze up. This of course is no fault of Pico. Folks were nice. The lodge was crowded and overall, we didn't love it as we had hoped. Outpost double exit was treacherous; super steep and narrow. Not snowboard friendly. The lodge is cramped and small.
