Projected Opening2021 Dec 04
Artificial snowmaking at full capacity thanks to the lowering of temperatures. Snow conditions generally improved due to the snowfall on 11/28.
The opening of the lifts is confirmed on Saturday 4 December 2021.
In the first weekend of the season the slopes are expected to open from 3,012 to 2,527 meters thanks to good accumulations of natural and artificial snow and from 2,252 to 1,952 meters on artificial snow.
The programmed snowmaking (this year started with a delay due to the unusual heat) is concentrating in particular on the Stelvio slope for the imminent FIS "snow control" which gives the ok for the holding of the World Cup races (scheduled for December 28/29). The production of artificial snow on the Stelvio allows professional athletes to compete on one of the most beautiful downhill races in the world (Olympic venue in 2026) and to offer an incredible show and, at the same time, guarantees the users of the ski resort to have, just a few weeks after the start of the season, the Vertical Fun in Bormio, the biggest skiable drop in Italy, an irresistible 1,800-meter summit-to-base ski run.
Therefore, work continues to expand the skiable area as much as possible.
