Located in Northern French Alps, but only 90 minutes from Geneva airport, the village of La Chapelle d'Abondance lies at the heart of a traditional farming valley in Haute-Savoie. The location of this small ski holiday destination is between Abondance and Châtel and around 1000 meters in altitude.La Chapelle d'Abondance is an ideal starting point to explore the Portes du Soleil ski area, with its snow meadows and breathtaking mountain views which visitors can take in from the centre of this charming working village. In addition to the skiing in La Chapelle d’Abondance itself, with 75km of pisted ski runs, the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Portes du Soleil ski resorts of Abondance, Avoriaz, Châtel, La Grande Terche, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine, Saint Jean d'Aulps, Champoussin, Champéry, Les Crosets, Morgins and Torgon. To summarize, La Chapelle d'Abondance is picturesque and authentic Savoyard village with both a local ski area served by a modern telecabine on the village edge, and the option of a link in to the Portes du Soleil through lifts between the village and Châtel. Nearest neighbours, by ski-lift, are Torgon in Switzerland, and Châtel.
