Compared to other ski resorts with 40 to 50 km of slopes, Hochzeiger offers a diverse range of runs, from blue to black, and some quite long descents. This makes the area attractive for advanced skiers, while beginners can enjoy about half the area without feeling overwhelmed. Those who prefer steep slopes will also find plenty to enjoy. Snow conditions are generally good until the end of March, and Hochzeiger relies less on artificial snowmaking since most of its slopes are located at an altitude of at least 1800 m. Prices are relatively low, the mountain huts are pleasant, and the staff is friendly. With the exception of one older four-seater chairlift, all lifts are modern and fast, and waiting times are minimal. Hochzeiger holds its own against neighboring resorts of similar size, such as Hochötz, See, and Kappl, and has a slight edge for more athletic skiers. A clear recommendation for those who don't mind a 4 km bus or car ride from their accommodation. ...
Very interesting and varied for a rather small ski resort.
It is located relatively far outside the town.

The entire resort is very well maintained, the trails are very well groomed, the preparation is excellent, and the resort staff is very helpful and friendly.
There are enough routes for one day, all routes are very well prepared, routes are very well marked
The blue ones are quite demanding, difficult for beginners

I don't think the ski resort is suitable for beginners or small children. We were there with a 4-year-old and two 8-year-olds. The older children can go to ski school, and the youngest can go to ski kindergarten (1.5 hours). Both take place at different times, so someone always has to wait. The magic carpet could only be used during ski school/ski kindergarten, so we had to walk up the mountain with the 4-year-old for the rest of the day, which neither he nor I enjoyed. On Sundays, there was no ski kindergarten at all, and therefore no use of the magic carpet. The nearest easy blue slope has a platter lift, which takes some getting used to. The problem was that this lift was completely packed, as all the beginners and ski schools used that slope. The ski schools always seemed to have priority or were pushing in line. There were 13 children in our group, so you wait forever at the platter lift. The remaining blue slopes were too long for our youngest. I found the slopes to be very narrow and crowded overall, and therefore not very suitable for beginners. We also had the bad luck that all the lifts were out of service for a day and a half due to wind, which was annoying since we had already paid for them.
small and manageable, nobody gets lost
Not for beginners
