Verbier Reviews

Verbier uses questionable practices, particularly with exorbitant prices at the beginning of the season: a 92 CHF lift pass for the Verbier sector when only some of the lifts are open and they are overrun by a promotional offer where thousands of people paid 5 CHF a few weeks earlier. There is no information about this on the website when you buy the pass. The customer service response is completely unhelpful. The skier as a consumer is not being treated with respect. This might be a short-term money-making scheme, but it's doubtful it will enhance the brand image!

Based on the reviews, we decided to try Verbier and were disappointed. Let's start with the price: 94 CHF for the day is excessive. Then, you begin your day on an ancient gondola with four-person cabins, completely inadequate for the crowds. As a result, both at the beginning and end of the day, you'll be waiting a good 30 to 45 minutes. Otherwise, it's alright. The Mont Fort area is only served by cable cars, and you'll have to climb countless stairs, which is very inconvenient in ski boots... In short, to each their own, but Verbier is clearly among the worst resorts I've visited this year.

I spent three days in Verbier in January, and it was fantastic. The slopes are varied and well-maintained, with great snow and sunshine almost all day. For freeriders, there's plenty to keep you busy with incredible routes. The snowpark is also great, perfect for a change of pace. Even though it was quite busy, the facilities are modern, so there weren't long waits at the lifts. Honestly, a really great resort, whether you're on the slopes or off-piste. Remember to arrive early to get a good parking spot near the lifts. Bonus: parking at Le Châble is free.

Super pretty village, very nice ski area, lots of activities for young people and après-ski but the season pass is terribly expensive compared to other places.

Very modern facilities, high capacity so little waiting time, very helpful and competent staff. Slopes for all levels, very interesting, beautiful off-piste routes. Magnificent scenery. The resort is located at the bottom of the valley, so there's no truck or car traffic passing through. Many restaurants on the slopes and in the resort, including some high-end gourmet options. Very good train and bus connections. Lovely shops. The most beautiful ski resort in Switzerland (don't forget that access to Zermatt is still more complicated)!

We are lucky enough to be staying in Les Châbles and to fully enjoy the bliss of the mountains without the inconveniences of a diverse crowd. A sublime setting, perfect skiing – in short, paradise.

A nice village, but nothing special. The 4 Valleys ski area is enormous, with long pistes and off-piste runs, and a good maximum altitude that ensures good snow even when it's raining lower down. Plenty of great ski/snowboard activities: skiercross, slalom, snowpark, airbag, downhill runs, etc. The only problem, which is still significant, is the waiting time at the lifts and the time it takes to get up, especially considering the price of the lift pass: 78 CHF for those under 24. Nevertheless, it's still great to have such high-quality off-piste terrain and, consequently, freeride competitions like the Freeride World Tour and the Xtreme Verbier.
