The weather is something that can’t be helped but visability on our stay ( Feb ) wasn’t great! Lots of people were trying to ski or board but ended up waiting for the fog to lift.
The ungroomed slopes were disappointing and made the experience difficult. Had they been maintained everyday ( not just the weekends) the experience here would be better. The cost of the passes are expensive and we would in future possibly buy day passes rather than a block. This would mean if we can’t ski at anytime we haven’t wasted the money.
The restaurants are all very nice on the
Slopes, but be prepared they are very pricey!
We take our own food and stop off for drinks and nibble on our own pack ups we take along with us during the day.
We thought the lifts and bubbles were very good and all the staff were very nice and helpful.
Check the weather cams before you leave as these are very accurate and if it’s not showing good visability don’t bother going. If it’s good, take a small lunch and enjoy Flumserberg slopes for the day ( albeit a bumpy experience ) I’m sure if you have enough experience you’ll have a great time!

Since the season started the slopes are all in very very bad conditions... Looks like they never groomed them sknce the beginning of the season, not acceptable since it's not the cheapest resort.. That's a shame since the place is fantastic, but you can not really enjoy the rides with this kind of slopes conditions

Flumserberg is really an excellent mid-sized resort with a wide range of pistes. Usually when people say that it's not so interesting it is because they have not fully explored it. It actually boasts the most skiable amount of (allowed) off-piste of any resort in Switzerland. This is really true. There are huge areas of off-piste on the Leist peak and then almost 20km of off-piste runs down into Prodalp. Also there is the Terzaabfarht from Seeben down to Oberterzen. These are marked runs but not pisted. So you are in the wilds but a certain sense of not being too alone. They are magic in fresh snow.
in 2013/2014 they are also adding 20km of new pistes opening up the area at the back of Maschgenkamm. As mentioned in the previous reviews the views are very spectacular. On a good day, one can see over 75km back up the Zurisee and Zurich city.
The ski school is very good and the teachers are mostly of professional-race ski standard. Last year our 4 year old daughter had a ski instructor who had taken 2 weeks off the world tour, skiing for Switzerland to come and instruct at the ski school. The school setup is a bit chaotic and the office are pretty useless. Nothing gets decided until the day of the courses by the teachers on the slopes. So outside of peak holiday season it is a bit hit and miss but I can recommend the school for both adults and kids alike.
There are a few super restaurants. Moseralp and Cruz restaurants are great to eat in. lots of great alpine food at very reasonable prices.
The pistes are all very well maintained with a good selection of everything. The real hard core skier might find it a little lacking but there is always the off-piste to keep one going.
Only on the busiest days of the year (Sundays with perfect snow and weather) is the resort really packed. Otherwise you always have a feeling of space on the runs.
The last 3 years the snow has been perfect there from early Dec to season close in April. But this is not guaranteed since the resort is not so high. But this season has already started with a base layer and it is forecast to be a cold winder.
My background is that I have lived in CH for 15 years. I have snowboarded for 18 years and skied for 5. I now live close to Flumserberg since 3 years but previously used to ski all over the country.
A note to Families. There is very family friendly accommodation at the Walensee resort in Unterterzen. It is like a big apartment complex down at the valley floor on the lake with pool / child care facilities / shops etc. There is direct train access from Zurich and ski lift access 200m direct up to Flumserberg.

Flumserberg is a very convenient resort, being 45mins away from Zurich. However, the snow conditions can really vary. Because of Flumserberg's low elevation, it can get lots of rain. The terrain was average, and it didn't have quite enough expert terrain.
I lived in Zurich for a few years, and Flumserberg is the easiest and closest skiing; it is literally 500 yards off the East/West highway>>Hoch Y Brig and Titlis too far off the main road to compare to THIS convenience. That said, this is definitely only good for a day trip and only when they have at least 50cm of snow. Excellent place to learn or improve one's skiing as the hill is modest. Great view at the top looking at the Northside of the Alps. Also can take a Zurich train right to the base station in like 45 minutes.
