Pistes ranging from easy ones for families to difficult ones for professionals await you when you spend your winter vacation in the Jungfrau region. The valley slopes are between 6 and 12 km in length and can be prepared with snow-making equipment should the need arise. The ski area is well-known for the demanding slope Lauberhornabfahrt. In Mürren-Schilthorn, the highest ski area in the Berner Oberland (1650 – 3000 m altitude), the snow conditions are usually good until spring. If you are looking for a challenge, you can try the 12 kilometres long black piste, the “Inferno“ that takes 2000 m upward.
For snowboarders the Jungfrau region is not only interesting because of the pistes but also two snow parks, the Grindelwald-First and Mürren-Schilthorn. The possibilities for cross-country skiers are rather limited. A specialty of the Jungfrau region is the possibility to do ice climbing. The huge number of frozen waterfalls makes the area ideal. The impressive ice sculptures are easily accessible.
