Once in Zakopane, minibuses run frequently from the central station to Kuźnice, the base station for the cable car. The ride takes around 10&ndash;15 minutes and costs approximately 5 PLN.
Private taxis are also available, and walking from the town centre to Kuźnice takes roughly 25 minutes. The resort&rsquo;s elevation spans from 1,014 m to 1,987 m, with a vertical drop of 973 m. The terrain is steep, exposed and entirely ungroomed, making it suitable only for advanced and expert skiers. Snow conditions are natural, with limited artificial snowmaking, and the resort&rsquo;s alpine setting ensures reliable coverage throughout the season.
The Gąsienicowa and Goryczkowa valleys form the core of the ski area. Gąsienicowa features a quad chairlift and a long descent with sustained pitch, while Goryczkowa is served by a double chair and offers a slightly narrower piste with technical turns. Both areas are accessed via the PKL cable car from Kuźnice, which connects to the summit ridge.
Freeride opportunities abound, with off-piste descents available from the summit into both valleys. These routes are unmarked and require avalanche awareness and proper equipment. The terrain includes open slopes, rocky ridgelines and natural snowfields, offering a backcountry feel within a lift-served environment.
There are no beginner or intermediate pistes at Kasprowy Wierch, and the resort does not offer terrain parks or tubing lanes. However, the challenge and natural beauty of the area make it a favourite among experienced skiers seeking authentic alpine conditions.
The longest run stretches 2.1 km from the summit to the lower lift stations, with elevation changes and variable snow making each descent unique. The lack of grooming means conditions can vary significantly, adding to the technical demands of the terrain.
The surrounding landscape includes views of the High Tatras and the Slovakian border, with dramatic peaks and deep valleys visible from the summit. The experience is enhanced by the resort&rsquo;s location within Tatra National Park, offering a pristine environment and a strong sense of place.
