Kästle RX11
What the manufacturer says
The RX11 is our most versatile race carver, equally suited to sporty short turns and long high speed turns. Visually inspired by the RX12 series, its double-wood core with double Titanal reinforcement gives it a race feel that is second to none. What makes it special is that, depending on its length, its handling characteristics resemble either those of a slalom ski or a giant slalom ski.
SKIMAGAZIN rating
This one’s begging to be skied! In the tested length of 173 cm, the RX11 demands a certain pace and precise edge control. Its stiffer construction delivers directional stability, sportiness and good carving performance. The fact is, however, that the Kästle divides opinion. Some testers found the tip too unstable; it has little to no appetite for short turns, and it isn’t exactly quiet either. “Not for casual cruisers,” is one tester’s harsh but understandable verdict. Those who ski with precision will find a sporty, precise LT ski with a serious character.
