“Yippee! You can do donuts on the piste with these Salomons,” says one tester – and his delight perfectly reflects the general sentiment. The S/Max 12 is playful and agile, loves short and medium-sized turns, switches easily from edge to edge and remains pleasantly controllable when drifting. It feels particularly at home on slightly softer slopes; on icy, hard surfaces, it lacks a touch of stability. Not a brutal racer, but a lively sport-performance ski that, despite its dynamism, doesn’t overwhelm the skier.
