Full review

We were been going to Tignes with my wife and her relatives for several years (5 seasons) in a row. First we went to Val d'Isere and that's how we discovered Tignes, after that Tignes was the only destination for us; first adults only and later joined by children once old enough. This was a great family experience all the time, we enjoyed every visit. But in the last couple of seasons we have gone to Val Thorence, which will be a different review. So, why did we stop going to Tignes? First and foremost it just became boring, we knew every slope as the back of our hands and started longing for something new. Buying ski pass for the entire espace killy (including Val d'Isere area) was a bit too expensive and not very convenient considering that we had to drop off and pick up or kids from ski school. Not enough time to ski all the way over there and back. And so Tignes area became dull after a while. Another inconvenience for those who visit this resort in Feb bear in mind it's time for annual X Games as they begin preparation (building half-pipe, etc) a couple weeks prior that. As they begin prep work they close off a major area down the valley immediately making it much too overcrowded. The specifics of the slops are such that they all join in the same point down the valley, closing part of that valley makes it pretty tight for everybody else. Otherwise, it's a great resort and I would definitely recommend it in good faith.
