A beautiful place for skiing while enjoying a landscape unspoiled by ski infrastructure, unlike some other resorts. Not too crowded, no waiting. Varied slopes. Admittedly, you have to ski down a red run to get back if the lifts are closed, but it was a red run that seemed really easy to us, very accessible for beginners.

  • Beautiful slopes, a resort that remains quite "natural", respectful of the landscape.

A beautiful family resort, always well-covered in snow amidst the fir trees, affordable prices, a lovely Jeu run (12 km through nature), no waiting at the lifts, friendly staff, plenty of activities... a resort on a human scale but dynamic, free parking. Weak points: The pedestrian pass for taking children to ski lessons is unacceptable, and the pass is too expensive when Punta Bagna is closed (reduced slopes).

This resort has the potential to be top-notch. It feels neglected. There aren't many slopes for children or beginners. You absolutely have to take a red run to get back to Chamasson. There's no bakery in the resort. The grocery store has exorbitant prices. It's not Val Thorens, but Valfréjus really needs to rethink its pricing, as it's still a family-friendly resort. The best slopes are still on the second plateau, Punta Bagna. Otherwise, it's a very beautiful resort.

Family vacation. The resort isn't great. There's only one supermarket, and it's outrageously expensive. Your grocery bill will be double what you'd pay in Modane. Parking is a nightmare. Once you've parked, my advice is: don't leave! The ski lifts aren't great, especially for beginners. If you start from Les Chamassons, don't expect to get back that way unless you're skiing a red run. In that case, you'll have to take the gondolas back to the other side of the resort. A shuttle bus would be a good idea. The slopes are generally okay, but there are a lot of flat sections. First and last time for us.

  • Value for money
  • The ski lifts

The ski area is very small, not much choice, and frankly, apart from Punta Bagna, there aren't any really interesting chairlifts. If you're there for a weekend, it's fine, but any longer and it becomes complicated and you quickly run out of things to do.

Awesome!

  • For children's breaks between skiing: the town has provided towed inflatable tubes, a toboggan run, a castle-themed play area with a slide, and a maze, all free of charge.

The resort offers unbeatable value for money. Beautiful location, friendly instructors. Very little waiting time at the lifts. I had a fantastic stay just after New Year's with excellent snow conditions.

  • Cute resort, ski-in/ski-out, well-maintained, short wait times
  • Very few green runs for beginners

Family holiday for four in 2024, children aged 10 and 14. The ESF ski lessons were excellent, they had a blast. Be aware that lessons end at the top of the gondola, which might inconvenience some. It's a small resort, not too crowded during school holidays except at 9 am when everyone takes the gondola. We enjoyed the restaurants both up on the mountain and in the resort; they were all good and generally very pleasant. Some ski shops are very busy at the beginning and end of your stay, but we stayed at Ski Republic Terra Modana; they were very good and accommodating. This is one of the few resorts that offers such excellent value. We're going back this year!

  • Excellent value for money: package, restaurant and accommodation. Very nice grounds and magnificent view of Mont Thabor!
  • The ski area is somewhat limited, but it's possible to ski for a day at one of the nearby resorts.

Difficulty reaching the resort without going down slopes that are complicated for beginners

A resort with excellent snow cover and a north-facing aspect, perfect for enjoying fresh snowfall. As for the lifts, the gondolas aren't very old, but the rest of the ski area is aging (chairlifts, T-bar lifts).

  • The freeride area is very large and easily accessible, with some very pleasant sections through the forest!
  • Small resort if you only want to ski.
