A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
This resort has the potential to be top-notch. It feels neglected.
There aren't many slopes for children or beginners.
You absolutely have to take a red run to get back to Chamasson.
There's no bakery in the resort. The grocery store has exorbitant prices. It's not Val Thorens, but Valfréjus really needs to rethink its pricing, as it's still a family-friendly resort.
The best slopes are still on the second plateau, Punta Bagna.
Otherwise, it's a very beautiful resort.

Family vacation. The resort isn't great. There's only one supermarket, and it's outrageously expensive. Your grocery bill will be double what you'd pay in Modane. Parking is a nightmare. Once you've parked, my advice is: don't leave! The ski lifts aren't great, especially for beginners. If you start from Les Chamassons, don't expect to get back that way unless you're skiing a red run. In that case, you'll have to take the gondolas back to the other side of the resort. A shuttle bus would be a good idea. The slopes are generally okay, but there are a lot of flat sections. First and last time for us.

The ski area is very small, not much choice, and frankly, apart from Punta Bagna, there aren't any really interesting chairlifts. If you're there for a weekend, it's fine, but any longer and it becomes complicated and you quickly run out of things to do.

Awesome!

The resort offers unbeatable value for money. Beautiful location, friendly instructors. Very little waiting time at the lifts. I had a fantastic stay just after New Year's with excellent snow conditions.

Family holiday for four in 2024, children aged 10 and 14. The ESF ski lessons were excellent, they had a blast. Be aware that lessons end at the top of the gondola, which might inconvenience some. It's a small resort, not too crowded during school holidays except at 9 am when everyone takes the gondola. We enjoyed the restaurants both up on the mountain and in the resort; they were all good and generally very pleasant. Some ski shops are very busy at the beginning and end of your stay, but we stayed at Ski Republic Terra Modana; they were very good and accommodating. This is one of the few resorts that offers such excellent value. We're going back this year!

Difficulty reaching the resort without going down slopes that are complicated for beginners
Julien Berthelot
A resort with excellent snow cover and a north-facing aspect, perfect for enjoying fresh snowfall.
As for the lifts, the gondolas aren't very old, but the rest of the ski area is aging (chairlifts, T-bar lifts).

Fantastic family resort. The slopes are very well groomed for holidaymakers' enjoyment. The Refuge Gourmand restaurant is superb, very welcoming, and the food is delicious. Punta Sport has a great team, very welcoming and helpful.
I will definitely return to Valfréjus.

A perfectly sized, family-friendly resort nestled in lush greenery. The famous Jeu run, the entire ski area, the freeriders who light up the sky. Nice bars and restaurants. Activities for everyone, both winter and summer. A great resort!
