The drivers were incredibly kind, understanding, and accommodating...
It's easy to criticize, but when something good exists, it's important to say so.
Thank you so much for this service!
And they even accept large dogs... Please keep this service going!

I've been coming to Cauterets for 42 years. I've spent many wonderful times here with my parents and family.
I remember the lively evenings, the fits of laughter at the ice rink, and the nighttime walks.
Cauterets has managed to grow while retaining its mountain village charm. No high-rise apartment blocks like in La Mongie.
The Lys ski area is open to everyone. Expert skiers will probably find it boring because there aren't any really challenging runs, but they can enjoy a magnificent panorama on the ridge run.
The major drawback of this resort is the après-ski scene. Let's be clear, it's boring. No lively bars, no activities or shows offered by the town (neither in summer nor winter). By 9:30 pm, there's practically no one left in the streets. The village is missing an opportunity to attract a younger clientele. It's quite simple: even in the summer, I no longer go hiking in Cauterets, despite the magnificent scenery. I prefer to go to Laruns, for example, which regularly offers concerts and entertainment in the evenings.

A very nice resort for families, especially for beginners. The blue runs are a bit challenging for beginners.
The slopes are superbly groomed, well done!
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
There's almost never a wait, sometimes a maximum of 5 minutes.
The only danger was the ski patrol, coming from behind us. I saw them cut in front of a 6-year-old, another in front of my 13-year-old, and a third right in front of me, nearly knocking us off.
Completely irresponsible and disrespectful of proper skiing etiquette.
They all stopped (there were 6 or 7 of them) 20 meters away, admiring the scenery... Clearly not responding to an emergency.
At least set a good example!

A full day pass costing €43, but the lifts are only 50% open... spot the mistake! It was a sunny day and there were 3 out of 5 avalanches! The mountain restaurant is also overpriced! Bring your own sandwiches!

They're making a mockery of their customers! On weekdays, only one in four chairlifts is running. Three (essential) runs are closed, and others are ungroomed. There are queues everywhere: at the ticket offices, the gondola, the chairlift, the bar, the restaurant, and don't even get me started on getting back! With a lift pass that doesn't get any cheaper, it's practically highway robbery compared to the advertised ski area. For example, in three hours, with a bit of luck, you'll ski a maximum of three or four runs, so basically, a little over 30 minutes of downhill skiing! So, if you really want to enjoy some great skiing on a beautiful snowy day, avoid this resort... and head to the neighboring resorts that take care of their customers and provide decent facilities.

Cauterets is a charming resort that combines skiing, relaxation, and a friendly atmosphere. The Lys ski area, while modest in size, offers a variety of slopes suitable for all levels, with excellent snow conditions. Freestyle enthusiasts will also appreciate the snowpark, renowned as one of the best in the Pyrenees, with its well-maintained features suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. This dynamic spot adds a great touch of fun to the resort. With its authentic village and modern facilities, Cauterets is an ideal destination for a successful holiday.

Arrived at 9:30 am, after a 30-minute wait for the only shuttle, which can only take 20 people (we had booked our lift passes online, thankfully), then a 1 hour 20 minute wait at the gondola, and our first run was at 11:30 am! Only one of the four chairlifts is detachable, resulting in rather long ascent times! To avoid the crowds on the way back down, we stopped skiing at 4 pm! So, in the end, we only had 4 hours and 30 minutes of skiing, not counting the picnic break to avoid spending 1 hour and 30 minutes in the only restaurant! This resort is best avoided during the holidays! It's not equipped to handle the holiday crowds.

I've been skiing in Cauterets since I was a child, and I must admit I never get tired of it. It's a small resort run by passionate skiers with guaranteed snow.
The village is very pleasant, and access to the resort is excellent.

A very pleasant resort for short breaks, a modern and well-run area. The only drawback is to remember to book your restaurant reservations in advance!
