Full review

Saint-Lary-Soulan is a lovely village in the valley with good après ski, excellent restaurants and a nice atmosphere. It is located at 800 meters altitude and thanks to the new Gondola combined with old Cable Car; it has direct access to the slopes at Saint-Lary 1700 Pla d’Adet which has the children’s ski school, some beginners slopes and a couple of excellent blue pisted runs. The restaurants here are horribly expensive, unlike further up the mountain at 1900 and 2400 and in the village, which are all reasonable. From 1700 you can take a chair lift and ski down to St Lary 1900 Espiaube or if not a confident skier, take the free shuttle bus. Espaiube has some more difficult slopes and the a second Gondola all the way up to Saint-Lary 2400, which has the most slopes, the adult ski school, beautiful blue, red and black runs as well as the Glacier area. From the bottom of 2400, you can either take a very long drag lift up and then ski 3km down to Lac de l’Oule, or take a gentle chair lift, there is a beautiful dam and a lovely refuge where you can eat Pyrenean food. Overall there is a 100kms of slopes for all levels, a large snow park, different types of runs and scenery and prices are much lower than the Alps. Particularly good value if you are skiing two days or more is paying in advance Overall there is a 100kms of slopes for all levels, a large snow park, different types of runs and scenary and prices are much lower than the Alps. Particularly good value if you are skiing two days or more is paying in advance €5 for an altiski pass from myaltiski.fr. This enables you to go straight on the pistes and through the lift systems, and only charges for the days, amount skied. It automatically gives you a 5% discount everyday, also it has special offer days such as 30% off or even 50%, and this is automatically credited, and if you ski a certain number of days it automatically converts the price down with each additional day.
