The description of this as a family- and beginner-friendly ski area is misleading. The so-called blue runs in the upper section are largely steeper than 25%, and this isn't just limited to short sections. When we were there, part of the family run was closed, and to get down, you had to take the red Brandl run. This run is borderline black, with an unprotected narrow section. The remaining blue runs are actually flat tracks, very narrow and also completely unprotected; you can mainly ski them using a snowplow. Furthermore, they end abruptly in the middle of nowhere. The lower section, quite long, is entirely red, with the exception of the children's slopes by the magic carpet. In summary: realistically, there are no blue runs in this area. For advanced skiers, this is certainly perfectly fine. For beginners, it's definitely too difficult. To be fair, the slopes were well-groomed.

Immer wieder gerne in Hochkössen, auch wenn das Pistenangebot jetzt nicht riesig ist.
