The Fiemme Valley is one of the principal valleys in the Dolomites and extends along the length of Avisio river, tucked between the Lagorai and Latemar mountains.Home to international cross country ski competitions, Fiemme Valley is one of the most celebrated ski areas in Trentino. It distinguishes itself by the high technical level of the downhill and cross country trails. They valley hosts important events like the Marcialonga and the Nordic World Skiing Championships, which will return here for the third time in 2013.The Fiemme Valley-Obereggen ski pass gains access to the slopes of the Latemar ski center, Alpe Cermis, Bellamonte-Alpe Lusia, Lavazè Pass and Oclini, with over 100km of downhill slopes. It's possible to ski cross country at Lavazè Pass and Tesero Lake (home to the world championships), which, together with the Marcialonga trail and the Bellamonte and valley floor circuits, offer 150 km of trails able to satisfy even the most demanding skiers. Cavalese, with over 3600 inhabitants and at nearly 1000 m above sea level, is the main urban center in the Fiemme Valley.
