A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
I've been coming to Campo Felice for many years, and it's always a pleasure to return. Over the past two years, I've noticed significant progress in terms of artificial snowmaking, with the ability to provide optimal snow coverage for 4-5 runs with zero snowfall. As for the facilities, although a bit old, they still function quite well. Construction of the new Monte Rotondo chairlift will begin in April, which could prove a great opportunity to get closer to Ovindoli and improve the offering, given that there are new snow cannons on Monterotondo, a beautiful resort with great potential near Rome.

The place is very nice and still less than two hours from home (I live in Rome), so it's perfect for a day in the mountains. Unfortunately, there are several downsides to consider if you want to ski:
HOUR-LONG lines everywhere: ski rental, ski pass purchase, bars, chairlift. (I really don't understand how anyone can be so slow to sell a ski pass... and I assure you, I've bought ski passes and rented skis in several places in my life.)
The ski pass is expensive compared to the offer: €43, and then half the slopes are closed...
The slopes are unmaintained and therefore dangerous: loose dirt and rocks, or slabs of ice. And this was at the end of December after heavy snowfall.

Aside from its proximity to Rome and good road connections, the positives end there. Few slopes were open, despite the abundance of natural snow. Rocks protruding from the ground and completely uncovered sections on the few open slopes pose a risk of injury and serious damage to skis. Finally, there was a complete lack of professionalism in managing a barely above-average influx of skiers. Hours of lineup to rent equipment and buy ski passes. Needless to say...they're really good. I recommend avoiding this ski resort.

Shameful. A day pass is exorbitantly expensive; it can't be considered "peak season" when half the lifts are open and half the slopes are closed! In short, money wasted. Besides, there's snow, but there's not even the slightest bit of maintenance. Even the reclaimed snow, which is abundant along the slopes, would be enough to fill the gaps. Instead, with the influx of skiers, on the few available slopes, after two runs, rocks and hay emerge. Crazy! Not to mention the facilities: at the "Cerchiare" start point, the prefabricated restrooms were in a disgusting state, to say the least, and the bars and restaurants didn't have enough supplies. I don't understand: they complained that last season there was no snow, now that there is, they don't know how to manage anything... With €43 per person per day, the company that manages the lifts will have a sky-high turnover and still hasn't replaced the 1970s-era lifts with systems capable of meeting the required capacity, the artificial snow is insufficient, and the slopes are maintained to a minimum. It's a disgrace. Better to stay home or go to other ski resorts where the expense is worth it.

Public services are truly pitiful, dirty and not even provided with the bare minimum.

Dear CAMPO INFELICE, I spent two days with you and I have to say it was a terrible idea. On December 26th, I wanted to buy two-day ski passes, but the website didn't offer it, so on the morning of the 27th, at 9:30 a.m., I arrived at the station and found a nasty surprise: a three-hour queue at the ticket office. The slopes were full of rocks, and the bathrooms were in unsanitary conditions. To get a sandwich at the lovers' chalet, I had to wait two hours. I'm sorry that Abruzzo, which I consider a wonderful region, has been unable to manage tourism for years. Dear CAMPO INFELICE, I will never come again, and like me, many people who, instead of going elsewhere, could come to spend their summer and winter holidays in Abruzzo.

I was thrilled to go skiing, but unfortunately the service was unacceptable. I took lessons with an instructor who doesn't help anyone, gets angry, and is rude to everyone. Another instructor was even more so, demoralizing a boy and making him cry. This is unacceptable, and this confirms my one-star rating.

1. I bagni pubblici sempre meno disponibili e sempre più sporchi:
a. Quelli presso le baracche, dietro il nolo Aspen Ski Service, chiusi;

Bellissima giornata, dietro casa, bella gente, molti punti ristoro. Progetto 2020, figli allo sciclub e si resta vicino casa!
