A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
A good location among the smaller Apennine resorts. The slopes are good until after lunch, even with little snow.

We visited the Campo Imperatore ski resort for the first time and were truly disappointed, despite having high expectations given the regular attendance during the summer season at this wonderful place (Gran Sasso).
The reception staff are completely unprepared to handle the large influx of skiers that can be expected after days of snowfall and during the holiday season (an hour and a half of queues). Once we reached the slopes, we found ourselves lost: no slope map, no indication of the difficulty level of the slopes, much less the names of the slopes. One of the beginner slopes is the summer road that leads to the Campo Imperatore hostel, without any kind of adaptation to make it a safe ski slope. Note the rails and road signs displayed without any protection. The slopes are completely devoid of fences marking their perimeter (even before a cliff).
On January 5th, despite the fact that the office guaranteed skiing (there were only signs indicating poor visibility due to fog), we found ourselves in impossible conditions (strong winds and heavy fog, so visibility was ZERO!). The only lift that was actually open was 1. Even the police and more experienced skiers remained at the refuge!
The only positive note was finding out about the CUCCAGNA ski rental shop.

The "Glacier of the Apennines", the only ski resort in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea with natural snow, open every year until May. A unique high-altitude landscape, typically Dolomite, a dive into history and the wildest nature, accessible by one of the most beautiful and daring cable cars in Europe.

Insomma on line zero spaccato.
