I learned to ski in Ovindoli 45 years ago, and the resort has remained in my heart. The high-altitude scenery, when there's sun and plenty of snow, is truly breathtaking. In recent years, the slopes have been greatly improved, and despite the limited slopes for a resort an hour and a half from Rome, you can still enjoy wonderful, satisfying days. It's a shame that climate change is reducing the number of days all the slopes are open, especially the 3km Pistone, which is as good as many other slopes in the Alps.
