Stún is a resort that captivates you from day one thanks to its unique natural setting in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees. The scenery is spectacular, and the care and maintenance of the snow is outstanding, always in excellent condition even on challenging days. Another strong point is the friendly and authentic atmosphere among the local riders, which makes you feel part of the community from the very beginning. And when it comes to ski schools, www.kyomuacademy.es stands out with its unique teaching methods and approach to mountain experiences. The less positive aspect is the lack of investment in access and infrastructure: the parking areas are still muddy, which is uncomfortable on rainy or thawing days, and the infamous "M30," that bottleneck in the form of a narrow run through which 80% of skiers pass on each descent, continues to be a problem that disrupts the flow of the experience.
The setting is spectacular.

Physical and not only operational union with neighbouring ski resort, Candanchu, should be accomplished the sooner the better. At least two of the old chair lifts should be replaced for new quads (one of them is dangerous and painful at time of loading)
Family friendly, valley orientation, relatively uncrowded, beautiful freeride. Perfectly well groomed pistes and proper use of artifical snow cannons
Some old ski lifts still operative. Ski pass expensive compare to neighbouring French resorts. No flexibilty in ski pass fares. Dependency on a common blue piste (main gate) to return to station departure area (big chair lifts). One of the old quad chairs

Loin des queues des stations françaises le pied!
forfait journée trop cher comme ds ttes les Pyrénées!
Your first view of Astun reveals a futuristic looking, purpose-built centre, located in a treeless valley above Candanchu – another ski area with which it shares a lift pass. Astun has about 25 miles of runs and a better mix of terrain the most Spanish ski areas, and some nifty uplift provided by two double and two quad chairs. Serious skiers have nine blacks to enjoy, the toughest being La Raca, and runs are up to four miles long over the 2000 foot vertical. Astun takes itself so seriously it has pout in bids to host two Winter Olympics – losing the 2002 attempt to Salt Lake and 2010 to Vancouver.
