The situation is borderline, as several processes, such as ticketing at the lifts, keeping the access roads next to the lifts clear, and clearing the access roads to the holiday homes, are repeatedly inadequate. When thousands of skiers are stuck in their apartments due to technical defects on a Goldel lift, which only started operating in December 2025, it certainly diminishes their holiday enjoyment.

Less said about this trip the better. Weather has been awful - constant rain. Only a handful of slopes open. Price of food and drink is criminal.
Staff at the Raddison Blu are very friendly but have seemingly no knowledge of the resort or surroundings.
Very little to do in the area.
SkiStar are saying they will unlikely refund us due to more than ten slopes being open, despite the fact only 15 are open and most of these are flat nursery runs.
To quote Skiresort.info ‘ The Trysil ski resort is located in a snow-sure region of Norway. All main slopes can be covered with artificial snow, and valley runs are possible from the first to the last day of the season.’ - this is totally untrue.
Don’t risk a spoiled trip. Go to the Alps.

Great experience, Norwegians are very relaxed, the ski lifts are an experience, the slopes are simply excellent due to the abundance of snow, a truly dream winter in March

I have been to Trysil every winter since 1983 and seen it develop into what I think is the best ski resort in Norway. The lift system is designed in a very clever way that means you can ski for a whole day without taking the same lift or slope more than once. This is unique to Scandinavian mountain resorts. There are slopes for everyone and a stunning view over the vast surrounding landscape from the 1132 summit and the Høyfjellssenteret village. It is also a great place for mountain biking in summer and has plenty of activities including a great Spa with mountain view at the Radisson Blu Mountain Resort. Highly recommended, in particular for families!

We really enjoyed our time in Trysil. Great site for new skiers who could work their way up in difficulty comfortably. Could be very expensive; the self catering options are vital so we got on the plane with all our wine, snacks and indeed frozen meat. Service great.
