You can go skiing in the Kaunertal almost all year long. The massive summit of the Kaunertaler Gletscher is covered with snow, year in, year out. Glacier skiing is usually possible from September through the end of June. The glacier plateau does possess enough lifts so that no waiting time occurs. Snowboarders, skiers, and carvers alike get their money’s worth in the Kaunertal. Black, red, and blue slopes are available. The snow park for freeskiers and snowboarders has a 100 meters long half pipe and different rails, up to 12 meters long, as well as two jumps for ski jumpers with several levels of difficulty. You can also spend your winter vacation in the Kaunertal in Fendels. The ski resort is situated on 1356 m altitude right next to the entrance of the Kaunertal. The ski area is located on the northern side which should provide reliable snow conditions. The nightly runs on the toboggan run are especially famous on the illuminated down hill as well as night skiing.
