A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
We've been coming to Białka for years, spending holidays at the Bania hotel – simply amazing! The escalators take you to the slopes, the thermal baths, the food – time seems to stop! The Alps and Apennines are indeed longer, but the food is awful. Three-star hotels often lack shoe lockers, while those claiming to be four-stars are sometimes laughable! The Italians are currently about 10 years behind us in terms of internet and service. There are no hotels with thermal baths right on the slopes, so people, stop complaining because the Tatras really are beautiful. Four-star hotels here are like five-star hotels in Austria or Italy, and the view of the Tatras from Kotelnica... is breathtaking... beautiful!!! And Białka Tatrzańska is still expanding, and that's wonderful!!!

We go every year with the school where I teach in Warsaw. We visit during quieter times, so I can't speak to how busy it gets. I've never waited more than five minutes for the lift. The only downside is that the trails are quite short—I prefer long, meandering ones.

The resort is quite large for Poland, very crowded, and as is often the case in Poland, people's behavior on the slopes is often dangerous (in Austria and Italy, we're considered the most dangerous slope users for a reason). There are a lot of people under the influence of alcohol – they take out hip flasks at the lifts or on the couch, and the same thing in pubs, with beer and vodka being bought in bulk – maybe skiing under the influence is allowed in Białka??? Where are the police??? From noon, the queue for the couch "smells" like a distillery, so I don't recommend it, especially with children. Some drunk 100kg could hit a child at any moment. And the lady at the ticket office asks my 8-year-old how old he is (you get a reduced fare for children under 16, and an 8-year-old doesn't look 17, does he?) – it's a shame they don't check drunks on the slopes so thoroughly. I haven't seen anything like this anywhere - but business has to go on, the pubs and the resort make a living from it, the police don't know anything? I guess they don't want to know.

The resort has deteriorated significantly, putting people at risk. Buying an all-day ticket at noon leaves families with nowhere to safely ride! They should report this; it's a violation of the ticket purchase agreement for varied routes, icy conditions, and massive bumps. Accidents abound.

They won't refund you for an unused pass. I bought an 8-day pass. For personal reasons, I had to return home after 3 days. They won't refund the remaining days. I don't want to use bad language.

Yesterday, after three days of skiing at Kotelnicy, my husband and I returned to Kotelnicy with a very bad taste in our mouths. The slopes were perfectly groomed until then, but we don't know what happened... because they're not that well groomed anymore, as the slopes are first groomed and then snow-covered... We'd go early in the morning to ski on a groomed slope, and then... surprise... we'd find ourselves skiing in snow. The season tickets are very expensive; it's truly unfair to the customer.

The price of 150 PLN for a 4-hour pass is a gross exaggeration. About twice as expensive as in the Alps, but not a comparable resort.

If you want to ski on these trails, you need to bring skis for various types of surfaces. Arriving in the morning, you expect "corduroy," but it was best to wear snowshoes. The organizer found a solution by selling insurance with the passes.

Poor infrastructure, few food outlets, overcrowded restaurants at the top, no toilets, no handwashing facilities. Poor service, very limited menu, subpar food, but by midday, they'd run out of everything except alcohol. I felt like an intruder, even though I'd left a considerable sum of money behind, and the prices were incredibly high. The slopes were poorly prepared, and the lift tickets were expensive. The lifts were excellent, plenty of them, but the queues were still enormous. Bialka Tatrzańska next year? No, definitely not! The place is overrated! The only hotel I recommend 100% – the Hotel Toporów. Bialka itself also needs some investment.

The trails should be closed during the day, there is no grooming which results in constant accidents, Kotelnica does not respect people
