Lombardia Ski Resorts FAQ

The mountains of Lombardy are a skier's paradise: 110 peaks over 3,000 m above sea level served by 70 prestigious ski resorts and 390 ski lifts for a total of over 12,300 km of downhill ski slopes and 590 km cross country trails. The hub of the Central Alps is, without a doubt, Valtellina, a wide valley where the major ski resorts of the region are located: Madesimo, Aprica, Valmalenco, and BormioSanta Caterina Valfurva. The Livigno ski resort and Stelvio Pass (where it's possible to ski in the summer) are to the extreme north of Lombardy while to the south of the Orobie Alps there's the Canonica Valley, with Adamello Ski, Ponte di Legno, and the Tonale Pass (where it's also possible to ski in the summer) plus the resorts of the province of Brescia: Gromo, Presolana, and Manlvia. The province of Bergamo has resorts in Brembana Valley (Bremboski), Foppolo, Piani di Bobbio, Valtorta and Piazzatorre. To the east near the lake region it's possible to ski at Pian delle Betulle and Piani d'Erna. And to the south of the Po River in the Province of Pavia you can ski on Mount Penice.
