If the snow weren't so often lacking, as it has been all too frequently in recent years, Chamazel would be much better known nationally. The ski school is excellent (all three of my children went there), the restaurant is very decent, the rental shops are top-notch, and access (roads and parking) is very convenient. Personally, I've enjoyed downhill skiing, ski touring (while the children were in lessons), and trail running there, and I never get tired of it.
A very nice and large resort with very varied slopes when there is snow, and extraordinary views (Mont Blanc, Alps, Massif Central, etc.)
Snowfall is unpredictable, but when there is snow, this resort holds its own against much better-known and much more expensive resorts.

Arène "Pierre sur Haute - Col du Béal - Chalmazel" idéale pour se ressourcer, seul(e), en famille, ou entre amis, en toutes saisons.
Pm : 1634 mètres est l'altitude du sommet de Pierre-sur-Haute, situé à l'intérieur du Centre de Télécommunications ; le terminus du remonte-pente est situé exactement à 1600 mètres :)
Caractère familial, échelle humaine
Néant pour les amoureux de la Nature.

Bonjour, Habitués des belles stations des Alpes…ce n'est pas le même monde. CHALMAZEL est une station attachante et pleine de charme. Loin des standards Alpestres. Mais venir dans ce lieu sauvage, c'est profiter de la nature et des paysages. Apprécier le ski autrement - ce n'est pas une station pour les grands skieurs. A préserver et à conserver. Accueil très sympathique et plein de bonne volonté. A refaire. Pour un Lyonnais qui apprécie les stations de moyennes montagnes
