La Chapelle d'Abondance Reviews

We've been coming back for 30 years. We love the setting, both in winter and summer, with the cows and their bells! Perfect for families with young children. A very flowery village with authentic wooden chalets. Lots of hiking trails. You can spot chamois. What we love is the old-world village charm. It's a shame the cinema in the village hall was closed. Intermarché supermarket nearby. And close to Thonon-les-Bains and Evian. No activities for teenagers. No nightclub, but the Fer Rouge restaurant has good music. Very good restaurants. Visits to cheese farms with cows and goats. Lovely market in Abondance. A village that isn't built into the hillside, where you can breathe! Worth seeing.

• Great for families with children / beautiful setting: pine forest, river, waterfall, traditional chalets, good restaurants / perfect for peace and quiet / no aggression or danger on the slopes
• No slopes for very good skiers however from the chapel you can take a pass which leads from the chapel, chatel, avoriaz, morzine.

Je ne reviendrais pas à la chapelle d'abondance. Plus de 30 minutes de retard sur les navettes. Elles ne sont jamais à l'heure. Vraiment déçu.

• Les navettes ne sont jamais à l'heure. Si il y a des groupes scolaires nous ne sommes pas prioritaire.

We have stayed in the village during the summer and winter and it’s hard not to seduced by the stunning mountain views, particularly the Dent Du Midi mountain range. Access to the amazing Porte Du Soleil ski domain is really easy and from the top of the lift arguably some of the best runs and views! The off-piste from the top of the resort is amazing through tree lined runs. The village itself is filled with interest and lovely local architecture. Some great restaurants are dotted up and down the main high street and we have always felt welcome. Couldn’t recommend the resort highly enough

dommage que le retour de chatel soit si compliqué en ski et en navette chatel devrait tout prendre en main

• quand il n'y a pas que des skieurs la station est joli et très agréable
• les navettes ne sont pas syncro avec chatel

Très mauvaise expérience : -Parking complètement verglassé très dangereux, surtout avec des enfants -Facturation d'un tarif adulte pour un enfant de 3 ans dont on ne pouvait pas justifier l'âge inférieur à 5 ans pour la gratuité. Il paraît facile à déterminer que le tarif enfant (-15ans) était applicable en étant un peu honnête!! -Refus de l'application d'un tarif moniteur sur présentation d'une carte professionnelle au motif que celle-ci n'est pas une carte syndicale -Personnel aux caisses désagréable au possible -Piste pour les débutants envahie aux heures de changement de cours de l'ESF. J'habite la vallée depuis toujours, je cherchais une petite station avec pistes ensoleillées pour apprendre à skier à mes enfants, La Chapelle s'est imposée par évidence pour en pratiquer le domaine nordique. Première et clairement dernière expérience dans cette station dans laquelle je ne remettrai pas les pieds.
