Montchavin - La Plagne
Welcome to Montchavin Les Coches, the resort at the foot of La Plagne ski area! In Montchavin (altitude: 1250 m) you can savour the authentic old-fashioned charm of a village that's kept its original structure; and in Les Coches (at 1450 m), relish the warm friendly atmosphere of a resort where wood and stone hold sway. Montchavin Les Coches is an integral part of the huge La Plagne ski area, to which it contributes one of the finest stretches of skiing. It is now at the hub of one of the world's largest ski areas, accommodating one of the stations of the Vanoise Express, the cable car that links La Plagne to Les Arcs thus creating Paradiski.

A fairly friendly, small, and welcoming resort. But in my opinion, not very suitable for beginners (only blue runs around, and the green run is very short and uninteresting). It takes a long time to reach the top of the slopes at around 280 meters (I'd say about 25-30 minutes by chairlift alone). O…
