I visited Bansko 5 times since 2009 for between 7 to 12 days vacations.
It’s an amazing and unique place, affordable for any budget, perfect for new skiers, and advanced. The most delicious food! Great night life, the Bulgarian warm and welcoming culture with a great overall vibe, makes you fall in love with this place! Highly recommended!!!... Full Review
Loved the friendliness ,, great modern installations ,,, mountain restaurants great food and prices !! Above all no crazy posers ,, who think that buying the latest ski gear means they can ski !! Very little pushing and shoving !

Town very good and lots of good restaurants
slopes get way too busy and runs a mess by lunch time... Full Review
Such a shame that tbis resort has been so heavily developed. It is now over booked and populated and can not cope with this pressure.
Access to mountain takes hours of queuing, runs are dangerous busy, ski school groups ratio to instructor are scary.
Transport is hard to prebook.
I would not come back. Avoid school holidays as you are wasting your time and money... Full Review
We have been coming here for the last three years and have witnessed the resort becoming more and more over crowded. Today we waited over 4 hours in a queue to get up the mountain and had to give up through hunger, thirst, needing the loo and tiredness. It was unbelievable, utter chaos. The number of holiday makers piling into the resort is way more than the facilities can handle. There is only one gondola and it is slow and out dated. Mini buses have been laid on to relieve the pressure but there are not enough of them and the only route up the mountain fast becomes jammed with people in cars trying to bypass the queuing problem. Bansko may be inexpensive but it is a total waste of money to pay 340 legs for a 6 day pass if cannot reach the slopes to ski. Pay more and go somewhere where you can get to ski. If you do manage to get up the mounrain and want a lesson you will then spend 50 minutes of your hours lesson queuing for the button lift. All in all very, very frustrating.... Full Review
Amazing cheap resort for beginners and families... Full Review
First time we've tried skiing, and this place was cheapest. There's very good reason for this. I haven't decided if the operators here are more greedy or stupid, but they are plenty both. Amazingly long lines at the bottom gondola mean your day starts with 90 or so agonizing minutes standing and cursing, and when you get up to the upper gondola station there are millions of people everywhere. There's a road leading up to the upper gondola, but the "free" shuttles just don't seem to show up. Only the taxis, which charge some 10 euros for the 12 minute drive. Everyone I spoke to had zero intention of coming back here.... Full Review
we've been here twice now and would happily return. amazing value. well kept pistes and lifts. ... Full Review
We were lured by the relatively cheap offers, but soon realized that cheap in the case of Bansko means terrible. The place has an unfinished communist feel with potholes the size of craters in some places. Add the overpriced food, long lines at the ski lift and bad service at every corner and you have a miserable combination.
Also we didn't feel very safe walking in the dark streets (yes no street lights) to our hotel. Overall it was one of these holidays when you realize that we'd rather work a bit overtime and save for a nice package in Austria or France than spend our vacation in this joke of a resort.... Full Review
