In short:
- crazy lot of people!
- not for people who wants to ski
- huge traffic jam last 8km before getting there, where you will spend 1,5 hours in it
- really bad experience with ski rental company
- bad quality of snow after 11am
- 10 - 20 minutes of waiting for lifts
- full of weekend skiers who are arrogant and do not care about security on the slope and lack basics of the skiing
- good for families and groups, who want to party more than ski
- if you want to ski, it's really not for you
We have been here on Saturday and this was the worst ski trip I ever been to. There was approx. 8km long traffic jam before the ski center and it took around 1.5 hrs to make those last 8 kilometers.
When we got there, we went to pick up our pre-ordered skis and boots we paid for up front and they told us they gave it to somebody else who came first! We waited around 1.5 hours in a queue in ski rental so they could find some gear for us. We got a different type of gear we ordered and paid for, really short poles and skis with a bad edges. And they did not give us any discount of possibility to get money back.
When we finally made it to lift at 1pm, there were so many people on every lift that we had to wait around 15 minutes and then skied for 2 minutes because slopes were really, really short and crazy-super crowded.
There is a lot of skiers who are skiing once a season and they lack a basics of proper behavior on slopes - they do not look in front of them, they cut you off and cause your fall and they totally ignore the basic security rules on the slopes.
The quality of snow was OK but only until midday - after that it was a combination of icy parts and huge bumbs where everybody was falling down.
This place could be OK for larger groups and families looking for easy and short slopes, who spend most of the time in bars or chatting. For this kind of activity its kinda OK, bars are OK, sometimes pricey.
But if you really want to ski, this is NOT a place for you.
Overall, I will ever go to this ski center again. It was the most expensive and the worst one-day ski trip I ever had.

Excellent place for beginners like me. less interesting for more experienced skiers. real advantage that it is the place is at a reasonable distance driving from where I live.
Macht schon Spaß in Winterberg zu fahren... gutes Aufwärmen für den Skiurlaub oder für einen netten Tag mit Freunden und Familien. Ist aber halt nur ein kleines Mittelgebirge und keine echten Berge.
