I've been coming here for over 15 years, but the resort isn't improving. They've increased the number of accommodations and changed the chairlifts, but without adding any new runs... which means the ski area is overcrowded. It's a shame... this resort is becoming less attractive year after year, with lift pass prices increasing significantly annually. Overrated resort!
Too crowded. The resort's capacity is inadequate given the significant increase in accommodations in recent years. The slopes are overcrowded and not long enough. It feels like all you do is connect one chairlift to another.

I've been coming here for 50 years now, I feel at home here and never get tired of it.

High altitude, April skiing, sunshine, good snow making facilities, family. But, limited apres and restaurants opened too late for our kids, so we mainly ate in our lovely apart-hotel

The resort is often snow-covered and sunny (Southern Alps). The slopes are varied, though perhaps a little flat. Apart from the recent and fast lift up Rocher de l'Aigle, the first descent on the Italian side is beautiful, but be aware that the return trip can be time-sensitive and a bit tedious. Many of the lifts are fixed, so they are slow.
High-altitude resort (1650m-3000m), therefore often snow-covered, varied slopes, possibility of going to Italy (Milky Way)
All parking is paid, and the old lifts are slow.

The limited hotel options are a drawback. It's a family-friendly resort, but it lacks a proper children's pool. The lift opening hours could be extended, or at least better synchronized with the day's opening. However, the piste grooming is top-notch. The connection to the Milky Way ski area is a huge plus, although you have to be very careful about your return time. Off-piste enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy :)
A large ski area connected to the Milky Way, with a wide range of off-piste options.
Few hotels, ski lifts opening unsynchronized,

We've been frequenting the resort for years, both in winter and summer. It's an excellent compromise for skiing on two sides and the possibility of connecting to Italy. The slopes range from green to black, and the latter are worth tackling when they're open.
few refreshments on the ski slopes

Connected to the Milky Way but outside the Italian border, it offers skiing on four sides, with diverse slopes, views, and lifts, well-connected with sometimes even fun sections. Snowboarding and skiing must coexist, sometimes with extensive runs, sometimes a little more risky. The French are wild and carnival-like, many Italians, and fewer foreigners. The refreshment and relaxation areas are good for all ages. It's pointless to talk about costs; those who go skiing aren't poor, and Mongi isn't among the most expensive for what it offers. Worth a try!
varied slopes, good snow, views and no stress
inconvenient or insufficient parking

Skiing in Montgenèvre is always wonderful. The slopes aren't difficult, but the day is relaxing. It's enjoyable from start to finish.
Mingi Vero is always a guarantee for the way the slopes are maintained and for the snow cover
Catering not always top notch

Located on the border between Italy and France, Montgenèvre offers incredible views and well-groomed slopes, perfect for skiers of all levels. Thanks to its altitude and consistent snowfall, it guarantees excellent skiing conditions throughout the season. The facilities are modern and the attendance is lower than other resorts in the Milky Way, making it ideal for those seeking tranquility and stress-free skiing. However, connections to other resorts in the area are not always easy, and those seeking a lively nightlife may find it a bit quiet. Overall, Montgenèvre is a perfect destination for families, intermediate skiers, and lovers of authentic mountain scenery. Despite a few small limitations, it remains a charming destination and recommended for a ski holiday.
- Breathtaking landscapes and authentic atmosphere • Varied and well-groomed slopes, with excellent snow quality • Less crowded than other resorts on the Milky Way • Modern and efficient facilities • Perfect for families and for those looking for a relaxing ski holiday
• Connection with the Milky Way not immediate • Limited nightlife compared to other ski resorts • High prices in restaurants at high altitude • Some slopes get ruined in the afternoon in case of mild temperatures • Limited parking at high altitude

Like every year, I've been skiing in Montgenèvre for about 20 years. It's close to Turin, well-connected by both the highway (Turin-Bardonecchia A32) and the main road (SS24/SS25). A one-day adult ticket costs €52. There are many slopes for all levels, 70 ski lifts, including ski lifts, chairlifts, and gondolas. There are two free ski lifts for those who want to learn (a magic carpet and a ski lift). The snow conditions are generally good, both with natural and artificial snow. Several years I've managed to ski until Easter Monday. The slopes are always well-groomed. The huts for lunch and aperitifs are always well-stocked and reasonably priced. An institution for those who want to have many kilometers of slopes and enjoy a full day on the snow. The excellent connection to the Via Lattea ski area allows you to also take advantage of the adjacent ski areas. Always recommended.
