A top-notch ski resort, the view from the summit is incredible, offering a spectacular projection of the glacier and a 360-degree panorama of the Alps. The snow quality is truly amazing, no snow cannons needed! Perfect for beginners as well as experts. The ski area is divided into two parts and very well served by numerous chairlifts and the Glacier Express cable car, which cuts through the mountain, showcasing human technical and architectural prowess.
The slopes are great, the snow cover is excellent
There weren't any

For the 68 km of slopes in the Pitztal Valley, including Rifflesee, the lift pass is definitely too expensive (310 EUR in January 2024). The glacier has its own rules: it's subject to unpredictable weather conditions, so when the weather turns, only two T-bar lifts are open: one for children and the long, tiring red slope. This is definitely an area for a one-day visit, not a week-long one – which was our mistake, as we felt like horses ploughing on these few slopes – monotonous and boring. And since it blew steadily for three out of six days, we felt the glacier's full potential wasn't being fully utilized. For obvious reasons, you won't find any ski schools for children or beginners here, so we don't recommend the region to families with children or beginners. The only restaurant serves such unappetizing, dry, and bland food. After three days of unsuccessful experiments, we chose to skip lunch rather than continue struggling. What's truly captivating are the views, the sheer size of the mountains, the comfortable two gondola lifts to the peaks, and the long, well-groomed four red runs, perfect for a day trip for advanced skiers without children. Rifflesee is an area with just under 20km of slopes, a single ski bus stop from the glacier, with a gondola to the resort, three chairlifts, and a T-bar lift. It's a bit better for beginners here: a ski school at the foot of the slope, a few blue runs, but advanced skiers are in for a bout of boredom, as there's no room for free skiing. In my opinion, Rifflesee is an alternative to a blizzard on the glacier, but definitely not a holiday destination. Austria has so much to offer that I'd leave this area for the last few days of experimentation. Overall, a poor three, but for a day trip for advanced skiers, and in beautiful weather in the Pitztal, an A+.
Two comfortable gondolas with four long, over 3 km long red slopes
Little variety of slopes, only the T-bar lift works in case of a weather crisis, a restaurant with lousy cuisine, no ski school (only individual lessons)

Dann könnte man sicher weiterziehen.
