A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Was there for 9 days in February 2026 for skiing, and sadly it was a very disappointing experience. The slopes were poorly groomed, and sometimes some not groomed at all, or only partly groomed, leaving them often un-skiable and often frankly unsafe. Many slopes were not in play the entire time. It was quite crowded (high season - somewhat expected), but often way too long and chaotic queues in the ski lifts - specially at the bottom gondola entrances - and with too many people (forced) skiing those few slopes, or part of slopes, that were actually open and (poorly) groomed, making it often very chaotic and with the slopes quickly turning into un-skiable moguls. The lift tickets are expensive in Crans-Montana, so you would expect some better service and preparations of the slopes and better organized and managed resort overall. The view is incredible, no question about that, but the rest, the slopes and lifts, need to be much much better groomed, organized, and taken care of and generally managed (which are things which are actually in the control of the management). The area has great potential and could be a really nice ski area with proper management and care.

Last week of February 2026: The piste maintenance is inadequate, and many pistes are already in poor condition by the early morning. There are no piste numbers or names visible; why even mention them on the map?
Several pistes are closed (including the glacier at 3000m!).

Ungroomed slopes in peak season, February 2026. Unacceptable. How to ruin your vacation by skiing down ungroomed slopes.
With the sun, it's like a slush... Help! Avoid at all costs!

Terrible resort and a completely incompetent tourist office. Only in it for the money and run by foreigners who couldn't care less about tourists. I'm never going back; there are plenty of other resorts that are truly worthwhile. Keep closing your ski lifts so you can go downhill a little more each year.

Having explored St Anton and Andermatt last season, we decided to check out Crans Montana this weekend on the epic pass. It is definitely the smallest resort of the three but it’s great for beginner / intermediate skiers/ riders. The town has a lot to offer for food / beverage and a great atmosphere. As many have reported, runs on the resort are difficult to navigate due to a lack of signage but we’ve been able to find our way every time. You can see where Vail resorts is planning to build up more bar areas and you can see why they purchased Crans Montana. I imagine in a few years this will be a popular spot. For now, it still feels it tailors to local skiers familiar with the slopes but definitely worth checking out if already in Europe / if interested in a smaller resort with a great town.

Beautiful, sunny resort! The Pleine Morte ski area was often closed this season! Very nice mountain restaurants! Friendly and patient lift staff with children! I recommend it.

Magnifique station ensoleillée sur un immense plateau. Vue incroyable de Martigny à Brig.
Beau domaine skiable, jusque 300metres d’altitude.
En été un golf 18 trous exceptionnel et un golf 9 trous formidable.

été comme hivers, c'est tres bien pour les familles et bien pour les gros skieurs. Le golf d'été est incroyable.
