Cortina’s ski terrain is spread across three main areas: Tofana, Faloria-Cristallo, and Lagazuoi-5 Torri, each with its own distinct character. Tofana is the largest of the sectors and offers a wide variety of pistes, including the famous Olympia delle Tofane, a World Cup downhill run. This area is excellent for intermediate and advanced skiers, with long, well-groomed runs and efficient access via gondolas and chairlifts. The panoramic views from the summit, which reaches 2,742 metres, are a highlight for any visitor.

Faloria-Cristallo sits opposite Tofana and is known for its sunlit slopes and challenging descents. With a number of steep pistes and technical sections, this area is favoured by more experienced skiers. However, it also includes several wide, blue pistes ideal for confident beginners. The area is accessible via the Faloria cable car, which departs directly from the centre of town.

For those looking for scenic skiing and less crowded pistes, the Lagazuoi-5 Torri area is a must. It offers dramatic alpine vistas and a peaceful atmosphere, particularly suited for those who enjoy a slower-paced ski day. The Lagazuoi cable car takes skiers to one of the highest points in the resort, with breathtaking views over the Dolomites and access to the famed Armentarola piste, a long descent that concludes with a horse-drawn tow back to the lifts.

Terrain parks are limited, but there are designated fun areas and beginner zones with gentle slopes perfect for learning. Families will find the Baby Socrepes area welcoming, with magic carpets and soft gradients that help younger skiers build skills with confidence. The resort also maintains nursery slopes and ski schools throughout the mountain to support skiers in their early stages.

What makes the terrain at Cortina stand out is its natural beauty and diverse piste offering across three distinctly different zones. Whether cruising along the longest 7 km run or testing skills on black pistes with steep gradients, there’s something to challenge and satisfy every type of skier. The unique Dolomite limestone formations and wide-open slopes contribute to a memorable ski experience that blends sport with scenery.
