Grandvalira’s terrain spans 210 km of interconnected pistes across seven sectors: Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa and Peretol. With elevations ranging from 1,710 m to 2,822 m, the resort offers a vertical drop of 1,112 m and consistent snow conditions supported by extensive snowmaking. The lift system includes gondolas, high-speed sixes and quads, double chairs and surface lifts, ensuring efficient access across the domain.

Beginner skiers will find nursery areas and gentle pistes near Soldeu and Canillo, with 17% of the terrain dedicated to easy runs. The BABABOOM circuits offer interactive skiing adventures for children, while ski schools provide structured instruction in safe, well-marked zones. The top of the Soldeu gondola features a beginner area with panoramic views and easy access to blue pistes.

Intermediate skiers benefit from 39% of the terrain, with long blue and red runs linking sectors like El Tarter and Grau Roig. The Gall de Bosc run, stretching 9 km, is a favourite for its scenic descent and smooth gradient. Other notable pistes include the tree-lined descents from Soldeu and the rolling terrain near Encamp, ideal for building confidence and enjoying varied conditions.

Advanced skiers can explore 32% of the terrain, including red and black runs across Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig. The Avet run in Soldeu, a FIS World Cup piste, offers technical challenges and high-speed carving. El Tarter’s steep descents and shaded ridgelines provide further variety for experienced skiers seeking intensity and flow.

Expert skiers will appreciate the 13% of terrain classified as black, with off-piste options and steep gradients near Peretol and the upper reaches of Grau Roig. The resort’s snowmaking and grooming ensure reliable conditions, while avalanche-controlled freeride zones offer safe exploration. The Aliga run in El Tarter is a standout for its race-level difficulty and dramatic alpine setting.

Freestyle enthusiasts can access three terrain parks, including Snow Park El Tarter, Snow Park Xavi in Grau Roig and Sunset Park Peretol. These parks feature 15 rails, progressive kickers and dedicated zones for all skill levels. The Sunset Park is open until late, offering night sessions with music and lighting. Each park is serviced by its own lift and includes viewing areas for spectators.

Natural features such as forested slopes, open bowls and panoramic ridgelines enhance the skiing experience. The resort’s layout allows for seamless transitions between sectors, with varied landscapes and consistent grooming. Whether skiing through tree-lined pistes or carving across high-altitude ridges, Grandvalira offers terrain diversity that appeals to all abilities.
