Garmisch-Partenkirchen/Zugspitzgebiet Ski Resorts FAQ

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is Germany’s winter sports hotspot. Skiers, snowboarders, carvers, and freestylers have numerous well-prepared slopes for all levels of difficulty available. The pistes are equipped with modern lifts and there is usually enough snow from November until May. Next to skiing in the ‘classic ski area’, you can also race down Germany’s highest elevated slope in the ski region Garmisch-Partenkirchen – on the Zugspitze you may find 21 km of piste suitable for all levels of difficulty to do so. Cross-country skiers have a spacious and well-groomed net of cross-country ski runs available. One of the easier runs is the popular run leading from the Hausberg to the Olympia Skistadion. More demanding are the slopes belonging to the cross-country ski centre. Good training conditions are nearly guaranteed because the run is well-groomed and there is flood-lighting. If you spend your winter vacation in Garmisch-Partenkirchen you can also do winter hiking on nearly endless trails and enjoy the beautiful landscape on approximately 110 km of available trails.
