Before putting on your skis, check the snow conditions at Riksgränsen one last time.
Height and quality of the snow, date of the last snowfall, today's weather, temperature, wind... all the information you are looking for to have a great day of skiing. Please note Riksgränsen snow reports are sourced directly from the ski resort and are only recorded during the official ski season's opening to closing dates.
Snow Reporter Comments: Good morning!
We wake up to 5cm of fresh snow, wind and low clouds. Visibility is poor and is not expected to improve during the day, so adapt skiing to ability and weather conditions. Drift formations and read slopes have been replenished by the moderate snow drifts last night. Safety work is being carried out on the mountain so keep an eye on the lift status and off-piste status to see what is open. The first final day in SBMC is the plan and the skiers will tackle Ravinen on Nordalsfjället. We wish everyone who comes to the start good luck!
Pay attention to the edges of the trenches in the system from when the snow groomers have built the slopes and lift streets.
– these are marked out with either a black and yellow stick or a fire yellow stick that has been crossed.
The snow groomers have worked hard this year to collect the snow that is available to build the slopes and lift tracks.
The top tour trail is not excellent this year as there is no safe way to take it – all ski climbing in the ski area is prohibited.
Avalanche information:
5cm of fresh snow in connection with wind 5/5 is built on drifts and may have possibly formed thinner drift snow sheets. The great danger lies in what lies beneath as the avalanche cones end up in stone rubble and among large boulders.
Always go with a shovel, probe, transceiver and a friend if you plan to go off-piste!
A thin and unstable snow cover means that the off-piste is not the same right now, there is more stone ahead than in many years and previously smooth sections can now be steep with terrain traps at the bottom.
For skiing outside the ski area, we refer to Lavinprognoser.se.

Riksgränsen is in the Northernmost part of Sweden, and is famous for its beautiful scenery, varied skiing and excellent snow conditions. The lifts go all the way up to an altitude of 909 m, and the base station is at 250 m. Riksgränsen is ideal for offpiste skiing, and heli-skiing is offered from April to the end of season. The ski resort opens in February and is open until the end May.
