Avoriaz offers varied terrain in a high Alpine setting, with 75.5 km of pistes, 56 pistes and a vertical drop of 1,127 m. Its location within Portes du Soleil makes it a strong base for both local skiing and wider exploration.

Beginners and families can use the gentler green and blue pistes close to the resort. The ski-in/ski-out layout makes it easy to pause, regroup or return to accommodation during the day.

Intermediate skiers have the widest choice, with 54% of the pistes in the intermediate category. It is a good resort for building confidence, linking sectors and enjoying longer cruising laps.

Advanced skiers can look for steeper red and black pistes, with enough gradient and variety to keep stronger skiers engaged. The longest run is around 5 km, giving scope for more sustained descents.

Freestyle is one of Avoriaz’s major strengths. With 4 parks and a tubing lane, the resort offers a strong alternative to classic piste skiing.

The landscape combines open slopes, high-mountain views and the distinctive architecture of a car-free resort. Avoriaz stands out because it pairs direct piste access with the scale of Portes du Soleil.
