Garmisch Classic - Garmisch-Partenkirchen Piste Map
Garmisch Classic’s terrain is spread across three main sectors: Hausberg, Kreuzeck, and Alpspitze. Each offers its own distinct character and skiing experiences. Hausberg is the most accessible area, close to town, and ideal for beginners and families, with gentle pistes and wide-open slopes. The ski schools and learning zones are concentrated here, making it a supportive environment for those new to the sport.
Kreuzeck is known for its sportier terrain, featuring intermediate and advanced pistes that are popular with local skiers. This area includes the famous Kandahar run, a steep and technically challenging descent often used for World Cup races. The Kandahar offers one of the longest runs in the region, stretching 7 km with a thrilling 1,330 m vertical drop from summit to base. Intermediate skiers will also enjoy the wide red pistes that weave through this sector, offering stunning views of the Wetterstein mountains.
Alpspitze, the highest area, provides the most varied and scenic skiing at elevations reaching 2,050 m. Here, advanced and expert skiers can explore steep faces and ridgelines, while intermediates can enjoy long cruisers that meander down to the valley. The open alpine terrain here gives way to more challenging pistes that appeal to those seeking a bit more adventure.
For freestyle enthusiasts, Garmisch Classic has a small snow park located near Kreuzeck, providing a handful of jumps and features suitable for beginners and intermediates looking to test their skills. Although the park is modest, it adds a playful element to the overall terrain offering.
Throughout the ski area, the combination of open slopes, ridges, and forest-lined descents ensures there’s something for every level. The views from the Alpspix viewing platform are a must-see, offering dramatic vistas over the Zugspitze and surrounding peaks, making Garmisch Classic not just a place to ski, but a place to experience the Alps in all their grandeur.
