Big ski area, great food, great value
Low on snow, can be warm

Smaller slopes but lots of them. Very family friendly area and town and friendly restaurants. Great Italian food at reasonable cost. Just been in mid Feb and we had lovely sunny days and one day of light snow which didn't register on online snow reports. Admittedly the fresh powder was very brief. Mostly man-made this year but not bad at all on most slopes. Nice fun ski schools for my kids. Via Lattea has a huge connection of slopes and we typically cover Sauze and Sestriere easily. Lots of choices of high (more exposed) and low (more sheltered, tree-lined) slopes to choose from and the only downsides are the Italian side of the Alps has lower snow falls and Sauze has no big wide easy blue for beginners so have to negotiate some tricky sections.
