Hochkönig Piste Map
The Hochkönig ski area impresses with varied terrain and slopes for all skill levels. From gentle beginner runs to sporty descents, every winter sports enthusiast can find their favourite line here. The standout feature is the legendary Königstour, a 35-kilometre circuit that links the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach across six peaks—offering breathtaking panoramic views and the chance to explore the entire region in a single day.
Wide, sunny pistes like those at the Sonnbergbahn and Gabühelbahn are perfect for families and leisure skiers, while more advanced skiers will find their challenge on the FIS training run in Dienten and the black slopes in Mühlbach. Particularly popular are the long, flowing descents from Hochmais in Hinterthal, Langeck at Aberg and the eastern run in Mühlbach, all known for their rhythm and pure skiing enjoyment. Intermediate skiers can enjoy the variety of red runs, while snowboarders and freestylers will find ideal conditions in the three snowparks—Kings Park Mühlbach, Family Park Maria Alm and Beginner Park Natrun.
Beyond the pistes, Hochkönig offers plenty of winter activities: ski touring, off-piste routes, over 40 km of groomed cross-country trails, and well-marked winter hiking and snowshoe paths add variety to any ski holiday.
A true insider tip is catching the first gondola of the morning—early risers are rewarded with freshly groomed slopes at their finest. The descent from Gabühel to Dienten is especially memorable at that hour.
