The ski area is very well maintained.
The slopes are very well maintained. Family-friendly and welcoming resort.
Lack of restaurants, although it's still very good.

Chabanon is a small, authentic, and family-friendly resort with 30 km of fairly varied slopes. The vertical drop isn't huge, and the highest point is 2000m. There's only one chairlift and quite a few drag lifts, but as a result, the lift pass prices are very reasonable. When conditions are right, it's great fun, and there's a beautiful spruce forest, which is rare in a region where larch trees are the dominant species!
Inexpensive package for the 30 km of trails
Very few après-ski activities

A great little family resort. Ideal for families with children.
Plenty of green runs for those who want a leisurely descent.
Few restaurants/bars

It's great for introducing children to it, and for beginners too.
Not too far from Digne, it's good for a short day of skiing.
It lacks atmosphere.

Almost 10 years of holidays in this resort, admittedly not very large, but family-friendly. The activities during school holidays are very enjoyable. The snowshoeing is magical. The staff are friendly and welcoming. No endless queues at the chairlift/ski lift, no ski runs that feel like highways, and guaranteed safety. It's not far from Seyne-les-Alpes with its lovely market selling local produce everywhere, and two other nearby resorts plus a Nordic ski area. There's something for everyone. We haven't tried it in the summer yet, but we're seriously considering it.
A scenic ski run not far from two other resorts, Grand Puy and St Jean Montclar, and the Nordic ski area of Le Fanget.

We love this resort; it has a family-friendly atmosphere. No frills, just pure enjoyment. It's all about skiing and spending quality time with family and friends. The services available to holidaymakers are more than adequate for a fantastic week of winter sports. The equipment is of very good quality, though I think a few improvements could be made. I want to acknowledge the efforts made over the past few years to offer better, more modern services. I've been coming here with my family for several years now, and I'll be back again in a few years with family and friends. Hoping the snow will still be there!
A family-friendly resort on a human scale. Far from the large, hyper-commercial, and impersonal resorts where the only goal of vacationers is to show off their latest ski outfit without actually doing anything. This is a resort with a consistently friendly team and...
Some aspects of the resort need renovation/update. If we could also do without the Marseilles locals and their disrespectful, even dangerous, behavior towards other skiers, the resort would be much more peaceful and tranquil.
