The resort has started charging for parking this year, citing "environmental" reasons.
The town hall advertises to encourage skiers to come on weekends, meaning by car, and then tells us, "It's not environmentally friendly to use your car, pay 8 euros per day."...
Thanks to the town hall, next year I'll ski somewhere else if parking continues to be charged with such flimsy excuses. This type of politician is turning the French off "real" environmentalism.
A beautiful resort for everyone, with very friendly staff throughout. The resort offers a wide range of entertainment, including a swimming pool, ice rink, market on Thursdays, good holiday clubs, and excellent snow conditions very often! Before leaving, don't forget to try the guillaumette, the local génépi liqueur.

We had a pleasant stay on site with two children and an infant. Of course, there is a lot of walking involved in getting from one level to another, but all the services are accessible.

With an altitude of 1850m at the lowest point of the slopes, there's always snow. The pistes are always well-groomed, the lifts are fast, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. After skiing, there's a cinema, swimming pool, ice rink, bars, restaurants… everything you could want!

Located at 1850m, Orcières enjoys fabulous sunshine, but in case of light snowfall, skiing is done on artificial snow patches (return to the resort from the top of Drouvet 1 or Haut de la Bergerie).
The scenery is magnificent.
The shopkeepers are, for the most part, friendly and helpful. There's a large market every Thursday. The tourist office is very competent. The ski school staff, as well as the ski patrollers and lift operators, are also excellent. It's a family-friendly resort with a swimming pool and an ice rink.
In short, perfect for a family week to recharge and relax.
