Small resort with only 3 chairlifts but it has a great atmosphere... people talk to each other, no queues or very few... I skied in Avoriaz for 30 years and now I prefer simpler resorts... it's the real mountains, you can breathe in the scent of the fir trees.
Family-friendly... not many people

I learned to ski there; now I only go occasionally, but it's a great resort for learning and even improving (I even took competitive lessons with my cousins for a few years, along with Amélie Rollinger, who also commented here!). My only regret is the outdated chairlifts; you can tell the resort won't be investing much more in skiing... it feels like the end is near with climate change.
Family resort, cool staff, the ESF (French Ski School) is great!
Short runs, lack of great off-piste scenery

My home resort since childhood, I love it even though now, with my improved skill level, I sometimes find the slopes a bit short, but they're fantastic and very well maintained! A magnificent area from a panoramic point of view.
Stunning setting and very friendly staff
The slopes aren't very long and are suitable for experienced skiers.

Good family resort

I've known this resort since I was a child. Accessible yet offering plenty of off-piste opportunities, the setting is fantastic. Barcelonnette (just a few kilometers away) is a very pretty, pleasant, and vibrant town. The local produce is delicious!
Superb setting! Beautiful mountains (Les Brecs, Le Chap'), the high-altitude trails in the larches. The friendliness of the locals. The gourmet restaurant. The return from the east!

Little entertainment in the evening

A really nice resort for both beginners and experienced skiers, and the off-piste areas are very enjoyable to ski.
A really great off-piste area with slopes for all levels and an incredible atmosphere
Insufficient investment in the development of the resort
