Ramsau am Dachstein Piste Map
The terrain at Ramsau am Dachstein is compact, open and strongly family-focused. The key ski area is around Rittisberg, where gentle pistes, practice lifts and child-friendly areas create an easy environment for learning. With a vertical drop of around 400 m, it is more about confidence and control than steep, high-mileage skiing.
Beginners should start on the easiest practice slopes and progress gradually. Ramsau is forgiving, manageable and less intimidating than larger ski areas, which makes it a sensible choice for children and adults learning together.
Kali’s Adventure Slopes are the standout family feature. Children ski through themed areas with Kali the Ramsaur, turning basic technique into a playful mountain experience rather than a formal lesson environment.
Intermediates have enough terrain for relaxed cruising, especially around Rittisberg. The longest run is around 3 km, which gives improving skiers a satisfying descent without feeling overwhelming.
More confident skiers can use the steeper and more advanced sections for variety, but Ramsau should be understood as a family and learning mountain rather than a destination for expert-only skiing. Its value lies in comfort, clarity and easy progression.
The setting adds a lot to the ski day. The Dachstein massif rises above the plateau, while the open landscape gives Ramsau a calm, scenic feel that pairs well with cross-country skiing, winter walking and family activities beyond the pistes.
