Rifflsee - Pitztal Piste Map
The terrain at Rifflsee - Pitztal rises from Mandarfen into a high alpine area around Sunna Alm, Muttenkopf and Grubenkopf. With 26 km of pistes across 60 ha, it is compact but feels properly mountainous thanks to its altitude range from 1,640 m to 2,880 m. The slopes are open, scenic and straightforward to navigate.
Rifflseebahn is the main access lift from Mandarfen, bringing skiers into the central upper area. Key lifts include Sunna Alm Bahn, Grubenkopf, Muttenkopf, Hirschtal and Dorflift Mandarfen. This layout makes it easy to build a simple family ski day or a more energetic route across the upper pistes.
Beginners and families should start around Mandarfen and the easier areas near the main access points. Dorflift Mandarfen is useful for first turns and short practice laps before moving higher. Sunna Alm is a practical mountain break point, keeping the day flowing without requiring a full descent to the valley.
Intermediate skiers will enjoy the smooth red pistes and open layout. The terrain is well suited to steady cruising, carving practice and building confidence at altitude. Because the area is not too large, it is easy to repeat favourite pistes and stay oriented.
Advanced skiers should focus on the steeper sections around Grubenkopf and Muttenkopf, especially in the morning when the pistes are freshly prepared. With 50% advanced pistes and 27% expert terrain, Rifflsee - Pitztal offers more sporting skiing than its size suggests. The longest run reaches up to 8 km, making a full top-to-bottom descent one of the most satisfying ways to experience the area.
The resort also includes one park area with rails and a tubing lane for a playful break from piste skiing. The main appeal, however, is the setting: high ridges, open slopes, clear mountain air and the dramatic Pitztal scenery around Rifflsee give the skiing a spacious, alpine character.
